Build good habits together.
Shared routines, gentle nudges and a streak you keep as a team.
Free forever for your first shared list · iOS, Android & web
Features
Everything a two-person routine needs.
Four small ideas that keep a household running: a list you both see, reminders that stay kind, a streak that belongs to the team, and a weekly recap that proves it’s working.
Today’s list

23-day streakShared checklist
One list, two thumbs.
Morning, evening and weekly to-dos live on a single shared checklist. See who did what and whose turn the recycling is — without a single passive-aggressive sticky note on the fridge.
- Assign habits to either of you, or to whoever’s home
- Daily, weekly, or every-N-days schedules
Nudges
Maya & Devin · Gowanus, Brooklyn
Devin nudged you
6:02 PM · gentle, as always
“Hey, the monstera’s looking a little thirsty. No rush — before bed is fine.”
Quiet hours on
No nudges between 10 PM and 7 AM
Sent today
You nudged Devin about the recycling at 8:14 AM. He did it by lunch.
Gentle nudges
A nudge, not a nag.
When the filter pitcher is still empty at 6 PM, send a kind one-tap nudge. Nudges arrive as friendly messages with your own words in them — never a red badge, never a guilt trip.
- Quiet hours, respected by default
- Pre-written kind messages if you’re short on words

Team streak
One streak, kept by two.
Every habit you both complete feeds a single team streak. Miss a day and a streak freeze keeps the run alive, so one rough Tuesday doesn’t erase three good weeks.
- Two streak freezes included with Plus
- Longest-run record you’ll actually want to beat
Weekly recap

Who did what
Pretty even split. The evening walk slipped twice — worth moving to 7:00 PM?
Weekly recap
Sunday-night proof it’s working.
Each Sunday evening, Tandem tallies the week: completion rates, who carried the mornings, and which habit is quietly slipping. Two minutes to read, zero spreadsheets.
- Even-split tracking, not scorekeeping
- A gentle suggestion when something keeps slipping
How it works
From download to first streak in one evening.
Most couples set up their first shared routine in about four minutes — usually while waiting for the kettle.
- 1
Invite your person
Share a link with your partner or roommate. They join in one tap — no account maze, no verification emails to dig out of spam. Two people per household, that’s the whole idea.
- 2
Build your first routine
Pick from starter routines like “Apartment basics” or “Weekday mornings,” then add your own: water the monstera, take the recycling out Tuesdays, walk the dog at 7:30. Assign each habit to one of you, or to whoever’s home.
- 3
Keep the streak alive
Check things off, send a gentle nudge when something slips, and watch your team streak grow. Every Sunday, a two-minute recap shows how the week really went.

Reviews
Kept by 40,000-odd households.
4.8 average on the App Store, from couples and roommates who keep showing up for each other.
Priya & Tom Nakamura-Reyes Oakland, CA · March 2026 “We stopped fighting about the dishes in week two. The nudge thing sounded passive-aggressive going in, but it genuinely isn’t — it’s just “hey, your turn,” and that’s enough.”58-day streak
Darius Cole Chicago, IL · February 2026 “My roommate and I both work nights, so “whose turn is it” was pure chaos. The shared checklist ended that completely. The Sunday recap is weirdly satisfying.”34-day streak
Sofia & Miguel Alvarez Austin, TX · January 2026 “The streak freezes are the reason we’re still here. Before Tandem we tried a paper chart, and one missed day killed all motivation. Two freezes a month changes everything.”91-day streak
Hannah Whitfield Brooklyn, NY · March 2026 “I was suspicious of any app that knows my routine this well. Then I read the privacy page, saw the export-and-delete button, and actually used it once just to test. It worked, instantly.”47-day streak
Ellen & Ray Kowalski Cleveland, OH · December 2025 “My husband and I are 62 and 65. This is the first app we both actually kept using. It doesn’t shout at us, it doesn’t have a hundred menus. Just the list and the streak.”112-day streak
Jae-won Park Seattle, WA · February 2026 “Three roommates would be nice, but for me and my partner it’s perfect. The weekly recap told us our evening routine was slipping — we moved the walk to 7 PM and fixed it.”26-day streak
Privacy promises
You share your routine with one person. Not with the internet.
Tandem lives close to the most personal parts of your day — when you wake up, when you walk the dog, when you nudge each other. We treat that seriously, and we’ve written it down.
Your routine stays between you two
Habits, nudges and streaks are encrypted in transit and at rest. Nobody at Tandem reads your checklist — not us, not advertisers, not anyone.
We never sell your data. Ever.
Tandem is paid for by subscriptions, not by you. No ad trackers, no data brokers, no third-party analytics profiling your household.
Export or delete everything, anytime
One button in Settings exports your full history as a readable file. One button deletes your account and every trace of it within 30 days.
Only the notifications you asked for
Nudges from your partner, your weekly recap, and nothing else. No engagement hacks, no “we miss you” guilt pings, no dark patterns.
The full details live in our privacy policy, written in plain English by our team in Brooklyn — not by a law firm.
FAQ
Questions we actually get.
Is Tandem free for both people?
Yes. The Free plan covers both partners or roommates on one shared routine — there is no per-person pricing, and there never will be. Plus is also a single household subscription, at $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year.
Can I use Tandem with more than one person?
Right now a household is exactly two people — a couple or two roommates. It keeps the streak honest and the design simple. Larger households are on our roadmap — follow us on Instagram or X (links below) and we’ll tell you when it ships.
What happens if one of us forgets a day?
A streak freeze keeps your team streak alive. Free includes your streak pausing during vacations you mark in advance, and Plus adds two freezes a month you can spend on any missed day. We deliberately built this because one bad Tuesday shouldn’t erase three good weeks.
Do nudges feel like nagging?
We designed them not to. A nudge is a friendly message with your own words in it (“the monstera’s looking thirsty”), delivered once, with quiet hours on by default from 10 PM to 7 AM. There are no red badges, no escalating reminders, and no streak-shaming notifications.
Does Tandem work on the web?
Soon. The web version is in early access, with the full shared checklist, nudges and streak — handy on a work laptop or a shared family computer. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when your invite is ready. Push notifications need the iOS or Android app.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Privacy → Export or delete. Export gives you a readable file of every habit, nudge and recap. Delete removes your account and all associated data from our servers within 30 days. No support ticket, no exit survey, no asking twice.
