These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Tandem Labs, Inc. ("Tandem", "we", "us"), Brooklyn, NY. They apply to the Tandem apps and website and are effective as of October 7, 2026. By creating an account or using Tandem, you agree to them. We've kept them as readable as we could.
1. Accounts
You need an account to use Tandem. You must be at least 13 years old, give us accurate information, and keep your login credentials to yourself. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account — if you think someone else has accessed it, tell us at legal@tandem.app and change your password right away.
2. Households
A Tandem household is exactly two people — a couple or two roommates sharing routines, nudges and a team streak. Each person has their own account; your household links them. You can leave a household at any time in Settings. Content you created together stays visible to your former partner only as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Subscriptions
The Free plan is free forever for your first shared routine. Plus costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year and covers your whole household — never per person.
- Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play, under their payment terms. We never see your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime in the app or in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their policies.
- If we change prices, we'll tell you in advance and the new price applies only from your next renewal.
4. Acceptable use
Be a good housemate — of the app, too. You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use Tandem to harass, threaten or harm anyone, including your household partner.
- Try to break into, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities.
- Resell Tandem, impersonate others, or create accounts with someone else's identity.
- Upload malicious code or content you have no right to share.
5. Your content
The habits, routines, nudges and notes you create are yours. You give us only the limited license we need to store, sync and display that content to you and your household partner — that's what makes the app work. We don't use your content for advertising and we never sell it. You can export everything or delete it all, anytime, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Termination
You can stop using Tandem and delete your account at any time in Settings — your data is removed from our servers within 30 days. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put other users or the service at risk; where reasonable, we'll warn you first. If we ever discontinue Tandem, we'll give you time to export your data.
7. Disclaimers
Tandem is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it fast, reliable and secure, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every streak will survive every outage. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Tandem is a habit app — it isn't medical, mental-health or professional advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tandem Labs, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and Tandem consent to their jurisdiction. If we update these terms in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
